Laitram Machinery, Inc., a division of Laitram, L.L.C. (www.laitram.com), is seeking an Account Manager responsible for our cold-water shrimp processing industry account base, which customer accounts are located principally in Canada, northern Europe, and in the northern US East and West coasts. Laitram Machinery has been a leader in providing processing equipment to the global shrimp industry for over 60 years. This position would be based at Laitram Machinery’s headquarters in Harahan, Louisiana, and reports to the Sales/Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial relationships with existing customers – liaison between Laitram Machinery and customer.
- Develop new customer relationships.
- Embrace the concept of team-based selling in performing the job. Look for opportunities to use team (commercial and technical members) and other company resources to further the ultimate goal of selling.
- Introduce and evaluate customers’ need for Laitram Machinery’s products, services, and solutions.
- Identify sales opportunities. Articulate and document company resources needed to bring sales to closure.
- Regular customer visits, conference calls, and webcasts to fully understand customer production realities and any problems with Laitram Machinery products and services, as well as opportunities where we can solve problems and bring value through improved products and services. Initial travel will be more significant, but longer term travel expected to be under 30% annually as Account Manager effects more efficient use of team and remote selling tools.
- Present Laitram Machinery management with facts about customers and an accurate picture of the market so that effective strategies can be built and decisions made.
- Embrace the concept of “self-management” in performing the above responsibilities.
- Work closely with Laitram’s Customer Service Manager to ensure that customer needs are being met.
Requirements:
- A positive, confident outlook along with an entrepreneurial, problem-solving personality.
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to details.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for learning and growth, willingness and ability to be self-managed, and the acceptance of personal responsibility for results.
- Capable of presenting an economic analysis (for example, cost/benefit analysis, payback analysis, etc.)
- Strong computer skills – Excel and WORD.
Desired Qualifications:
- Industrial sales experience with solid commercial skills.
- Team selling and use of remote selling tools – emails, conference calls, webcasts, video conferencing, etc.
