NOLA Business Alliance, a start-up public private partnership with the City of New Orleans, is currently seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO must be well versed in all aspects of directing an economic development organization, and will work with the Board of Directors to establish, structure, and maintain the organization’s vision and mission. Key responsibilities include: developing and executing a strategic plan, leading a proactive business retention process, heading an active business recruitment strategy, liaising with city partners in the public and private sectors, identifying critical issues and impediments to economic development, fundraising new revenue sources from both the private sector and grants, and managing the organization’s staff and finances.
The successful CEO will have a track record of proven success and understanding of economic development, strategic planning, government relations, organization management, and fiscal management. The ideal candidate will also have five to ten years of progressively responsible experience in economic development or comparable experience in public administration, business administration, not-for-profit organization or closely related field. A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in business, law, public administration, or related discipline is preferred. CEcD designation is a plus, but is not required. Residency in Orleans Parish will be required upon accepting the position.
