Position Description:

The Assistant Director of Nursing is the second highest level position in the nursing department. This position takes on some of the responsibilities of the nursing department as may be delegated. He/she provides assistance in the functioning of the nursing department. In addition, he/she assists and supports the translation of the nursing philosophy of the center into nursing practice by participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care delivery system.

Qualifications:

A graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience is required and a minimum of one year of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing with one year in a management/administrative or supervisory capacity is preferred.
