Special Events & Marketing Internship
The Louisiana State Museum Special Events and Marketing internship is ideal for a Marketing or Mass Communications student or recent graduate who is looking for experience in the event planning industry. Intern will learn how to plan and execute a successful event beginning with contract preparation all the way down to the final details of the actual event. Intern will learn how to conduct a site visit and the many event regulations of a historic building, assist in events on the weekends and some evenings, as well as handle day-to-day duties in the office.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Respond to all wedding and event leads – Generate contracts for upcoming events – Copy and distribute event forms for all upcoming events at the museum – Accompany event director and clients on site visits of the various LSM properties – Answer any inquiries from clients – Assist event director on weekend and evening events – Help with day to day tasks around the office – Create newsletter layouts, etc.
Intern Requirements:
- Ability to work nights and weekends during events – Strong organizational skills – Ability to handle clients in a professional manner – Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel – Ability to multi-task – Some design skills
