Description:
Intralox, LLC has an opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work in the Manufacturing Engineering Group (MEG). In this position, you will design, prototype, fabricate, test, analyze, troubleshoot and document production equipment used to increase efficiency, improve safety, maintain high part quality, and improve profitability at Intralox.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Project Managers in the development of the project scope, timeline and budget, along with communicating project updates
Take ownership of projects from concept to manufacturing, including design, functional requirements, prototype development, validation and manufacturability
Develop detailed parts, assemblies, and drawings using Solidworks
Work with external suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to produce robust, cost effective designs for high volume production
Follow existing Intralox Automation Standards
Gather and analyze project related information from applicable sources including New Product Development, Maintenance, Mold Shop, Production Floor, etc.
Conduct and / or participate in group design reviews, R&D projects and mentoring programs
Work closely with Controls Engineers in determining hardware configurations, control strategy and software requirements
Coordinate with Technical Writers in the development of project documentation and equipment manuals
Develop and conduct training for Production and Maintenance personnel
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of machine design experience or 7+ years of comparable machine design experience
Solid Modeling/CAD Experience
Must have demonstrated ability in creative problem solving and innovation
Self managed and organized
Innovative, “hands-on”, confident and clear communicator (both written and verbal), with a passion for machine design
Great attitude and excellent team player
Familiar with pneumatic, hydraulic and electric controlled equipment
PC expertise (word processing, spreadsheet, database)
People skills (presentations, training, gathering feedback, etc)
Some on-call time possible
?5% domestic / international travel
Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency with Solidworks
Sheetmetal design experience
Robotics experience
Machine vision experience
Experience with tight tolerances and tolerance stackup
