Green Coast Enterprises (http://www.greencoastenterprises.com/) is hiring a Project Staffperson to support our expanding work with energy efficient retrofits in New Orleans.

About GCE
GCE develops real estate and performs a continuum of real estate services focused on urban areas in need of community renewal located in the Southeastern United States, with a special focus on coastal areas threatened by climate change. We are currently expanding our service offering in the area of energy efficiency, in conjunction with grant financing provided to the City of New Orleans.

About the Program
GCE is a subcontractor supporting the NOLA Wise Energy Efficiency Program (“the Program”), which will provide financial support for energy efficiency upgrades to homeowners in the City of New Orleans. At present, the Program has committed funding for one calendar year, but additional funding is possible depending on the performance of the Program. In part, GCE’s role in the Program is to oversee the quality of the retrofits performed, track ongoing retrofit performance, and maintain an up to date list of contractors who are competent to perform upgrades within the program.

Job Responsibilities
The Project Staffperson will be responsible for the following tasks in conjunction with the Program:
1. Oversee contractor management and related workforce development efforts, which includes partnership with local community colleges and other job training organizations
2. Use IT and database systems necessary for effective program management, auditor and contractor deployment, cost controls, customer tracking, and program budgeting
3. Performing quality control inspections of completed retrofit work and resolving any issues that are identified, including any needed retraining of contractors or communication with them about the consequences of inadequate work
4. Work cohesively with GCE personnel and other participants in the NOLA Wise Program to ensure that contractors are aware of the program’s structure and are appropriately incentivized to meet program goals in a timely and professional manner

The Project Staffperson will report to Karley Frankic, GCE’s Construction Supervisor.

Salary and Benefits
The Project Staffperson will earn a competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus
benefits which include health insurance through a Health Savings Account eligible plan.

Candidate Qualificiations
Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution to be considered for the position. They must also currently reside in Greater New Orleans or be willing to relocate immediately.

The ideal candidate will have:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

Advanced understanding of energy policy issues, environmental stewardship and options, and energy technologies including renewable sources and energy efficiency

Significant project management experience including overseeing or completing energy efficiency retrofit work, home remodeling work, or construction work more generally

Advanced understanding of concepts of energy efficiency in construction

Experience working with or for residential builders, remodelers, or architects

Understanding of the sales tools involved in moving homeowner and building owners through the education and decision-making process involved in energy retrofit work

Strong communications skills and familiarity with mobile and web-based technology

We do not expect candidates to meet all of these criteria, but they are indicative of the caliber of
individual we seek.

While the Program is only guaranteed to receive funding for the next calendar year, GCE intends
to hire candidates based on their long-term fit with the organization, in the hope that additional
funding for the Program will be secured and additional opportunities will emerge.
