Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic/visual art design, communications, marketing and/or equivalent layout and creative production experience.
• Three years experience in advertising, marketing and/or graphic design including project coordination and print trafficking.
• Proficiency in use of graphic design programs including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, etc), and Microsoft (PowerPoint and Word). Experience in Dreamweaver/basic HTML. Flash experience a plus.
Summary:
The LPHI Graphic Designer assists LPHI programs and external contracts in the design and development of graphic projects including logos, brochures, business cards, promotional items and annual reports, as well as print, radio, television and web/social media-based social marketing campaigns.
Duties:
• Responsible for designing and creating corporate logos, marketing brochures, and other print materials (briefs, annual reports, etc.)
• Responsible for translation of creative briefs into effective print and digital communications that match creative brief content
• Responsible for website, blog and social media presence design/layout
• Brainstorm and develop creative concepts with LPHI communications team
• Assist in the development of paid media (print, radio, television and web advertising) campaign projects
• Articulate/visualize concepts with storyboarding skills
• Lead preparation and trafficking to vendors/media outlets and request competitive bids from printers, promotional vendors, and similar contractors as needed
• Tracks and report on hours spent and resources used for projects in order to provide LPHI with in-house ‘value’ to programs
Desired Skills, Background, and Abilities:
• Portfolio of work demonstrating excellent visual conceptual and graphic design for web and print media
• Experience working in a communications/marketing environment
• Experience with blog/wordpress platforms and CMS integration
• Understanding of and experience in corporate branding, layout, color theory and typography in both print and digital media
• Experience with pre-press, the printing process and electronic mechanicals;
• Understanding of Web site structure and functionality
• Understanding of social media campaigns (principally through Facebook and Twitter and the development of custom facebook/twitter pages/tabs)
• Strong skills in written and oral communication skills
• Ability to maintain a highly detail-oriented approach while also maintaining an appreciation of the long-term goals and objectives of the program
• Ability to oversee many tasks at once.
• Ability to think proactively and function independently
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds
