Finance & Operations Management Program
The Finance & Operations Management Program (FOMP) equips an upcoming leader for the Director of Finance role. During the 1-year program, the FOMP Resident is responsible for coordinating and supporting all data and financial management systems to enable the school to develop students for leadership and lifelong learning. The Resident reports to the Director of Finance and works collaboratively with the Finance and Operations team. The Resident will receive on-going professional development to manage financial and operational aspects of the school and be prepared to transition to the Director of Finance role at the end of the first year.
Key Responsibilities: – Complete school financial reports and manage school budget – Ensure compliance with federal and state accountability requirements – Manage procurement processes, procedures, and compliance – Execute accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and accounting data entry for the school, working in conjunction with the operations team – Manage human resources processes, procedures, and compliance – Support state and internal data reporting, AFR and PEP reporting, and ADP HR Portal – Grant writing, grant management, and supporting development efforts – Support facilities, student transportation, and technology – Work collaboratively with Upper and Lower School teams, School Leaders, and Board of Directors
Characteristics of our ideal candidate: – Financial and business acumen – A mastery of all Microsoft applications (especially Excel) – Experience in accounting and a proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) – A bachelor’s degree or higher (Accounting, Business, Finance, or Operations Management preferred) – A proven track record of professional achievement – An extraordinary ability to multi-task – A passion and commitment to preparing our students for leadership and lifelong learning – Enthusiasm for working with urban youth – The ability to receive and implement feedback
