LPHI’s Division of Information Services Division (IS) designs, plans & enables Information Services and supporting platforms to positively impact population level health outcomes in Louisiana. IS provides innovative solutions, guidance and TA to health policy-makers, healthcare organizations, and Louisiana communities based in current and emerging Public Health/Bio-Medical Informatics best practices. Serving both LPHI and partner healthcare organizations, IS efforts broadly focus on the following congruent areas – Health Information Technology, Infrastructure, Information Systems Development, and Data & Health Geography

Position Summary:

The Health IT Project manager reports to the Associate Director, Division of Information Services and works under the strategic guidance and direction of the CIO. The Health IT Project Manager will assist in and lead the assigned SBHC and other HIT initiatives for Information Services.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Health IT Project Manager will lead and manage all aspects of large multi-product, multi-facility clinical systems implementation projects LPHI. Position requires frequent interaction with customers, outside vendors and suppliers, and multiple cross-functional Services teams. Senior project management and executive client communication skills are required.
• Manage all internal and external project interfaces across teams and organizational levels, including executive levels with regard to School Health Connection Health IT.
• Complete ownership and management of all aspects of the implementation process for customer facing projects
• Project planning and financial forecasting
• Resource scheduling and management of key resources
• Oversee site-specific system configuration design where applicable
• Management of system implementation and integration activities
• Manage a customer-specific roll-out and go-live process
• Manage multi-facility, multi-product implementations across multiple concurrent client engagements including leading & coordinating separate project teams & other project managers as needed.
• Manage and Align project plans into the single IS Health IT program plan.
• Manage the client-side executive relationship/sponsor, including management of scope, expectations, status and issues follow-up.
• Actively manage customer satisfaction and customer quality requirements and issues.
• Assure compliance and adherence to processes and project methodologies
• Adeptly identify, prioritize, communicate and drive resolution of critical issues and risks to mitigate negative impact to customer satisfaction, schedule or revenue forecasts.
• Effectively manage through difficult situations with clear timely decision making and incisive and creative problem solving.

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Excellent time management and project management skills required
• Experience in the health-care industry highly regarded
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organizational skills

Education/Work Experience:
• B.S. in Technical or Clinical discipline or equivalent business experience (Registered Nurses, CNOR’s, and/or Operating Room Directors are encouraged to apply)
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of IT project management experience in healthcare working with external customers
• Experience with and/or knowledge of Clinical product lines, e.g. eclinicalworks, EHS, All scripts etc.
• Proficiency in clinical workflow, ideally across departments and systems

Highly Desired Experience:
• Green/Black Belt Certification or familiarity w/Six Sigma quality principles
• MS or MBA and PMP certification

Program Responsibilities:
Primary: School Health Connection, School Based Health Centers Project.
Secondary: Ensure alignment and lead integration with other local and statewide LPHI HIT related programs initiates, Beacon, Regional Extension Center.
