FoMA is seeking a skilled, motivated intern for 20 hours a week to assist in a community strategic planning process for the Treme neighborhood in preparation for the redevelopment of the Municipal Auditorium in Armstrong Park.
This position is currently unpaid, but could potentially provide free housing and pay in the future. This position has the potential to become a full time paid position for the right individual at the end of the summer.
Starts Immediately, with 3 month minimum commitment. Office located in Treme near Esplenade and Rampart, flexible hours and ability to work from home and coffee shops.
A background in Architecture, Planning, Real Estate, Community Organizing, Finance, or Graphic Design will be helpful.
The following software/computer skills will be also be helpful, but not required:
Adobe Creative Suite, including Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Drafting, Rendering and Architectural skills a plus.
Presentation-making and giving, and research and writing, web/blog/social media fluency highly desirable.

FoMA has convened People United for Armstrong Park have been creating community consensus about the future of Armstrong Park and its assets, including the Municipal Auditorium and Congo Square. We are undertaking the strategic planning and community engagement processes necessary to move the Municipal Auditorium, Congo Square and Park redevelopment projects forward.
FoMA and PUfAP are developing a formal community vision plan for the Park, Congo Square, and Auditorium that draws from the input of local residents and institutions.
