Bookkeeper
The Bookkeeper is an integral part of the Finance and Operations team with primary responsibility for accounting. The Bookkeeper supports the Director of Finance in coordinating budgets, grants, and payroll. The Bookkeeper position is part-time, between 5 to 10 hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Weekly entry of accounting data for the school and basic bookkeeping
• Weekly tracking and updating of the donation database
• Grant management and data management assistance
• Auditing and executing internal controls
• Assisting with school financial reports and management of school budget
• Assisting with compliance for federal and state accountability requirements
• Preparing monthly Balance Sheet Account schedules used for reconciliations
Characteristics of an Ideal Candidate:
• Detail orientated
• Auditing experience
• Financial and business acumen
• Analytical problem solver
• Previous experience working in the charter sector a plus
Position Requirements:
• Experience in Accounting, B.S. preferred
• Proficient in Quick Books and MS Excel
• A thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
