Position Summary
The Associate Director, Infrastructure reports to the LPHI CIO and works closely and collaboratively with the Associate Director, Division of Information Services. The Associate Director, Infrastructure for the Division of Information Services collaborates with all Division staff, across LPHI and with partner organizations as appropriate.
The Associate Director, Infrastructure is a hands-on position which will define processes, technical infrastructure and architectural standards for development and implementation of systems at the enterprise level. She/he will evaluate products and projects to ensure congruency with strategic initiatives and industry trends.
Position Requirements:
Leadership& Communication
? Technology leadership for planning, developing, and implementing sustainable information technology solutions that extend service quality, complement community infrastructure resources, and improve cost efficiencies
? Leadership in developing and maintaining mission-focused partnerships with state HIT initiatives, regional healthcare systems, and local partners
? Oversight and leadership in planning and implementing LPHI and community information systems across the following areas: Networking, Storage Platforms, Unix Platforms, Microsoft Platforms, and Desktop Support
? Support the research and administrative operations in concert with other LPHI divisions and partner institutions
? Ability to write compelling proposals and seek funding and growth opportunities
? Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts in a multi-stake holder environment
? Highly motivated team player with ability to lead cross functional Information Services team and serve as a critical liaison for the Infrastructure Unit in collaborative efforts with the Health IT, Information Systems Development, and Data & Health Geography Units.
Technical & Project Management
? Core design, implementation and maintenance experience with network infrastructure components (routers, switches, load balancers, SAN)
? Configure, build, deployment, testing and troubleshooting of server builds
? Manage and Maintain Active Directory, DNS/DHCP configuration
? Develop or contribute to deliverables for additional testing and support test execution for system/integration testing of server builds
? Strong Unix, Linux, and Windows system administration experience
? Excellent knowledge of virtualization technologies, e.g. VMware
? Experience with Business Intelligence Systems
? Experience with database application (MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server) installation and maintenance
? Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements
? Serve as technical lead in implementations of new technologies
? Outline system level impact of individual projects or requested system changes
? Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and countermeasures
? Familiar with LAMP platform administration
? Experience should include the following:
o General Scripting: Shell, Perl, and/or Python preferred
o Network Architecture with advanced knowledge of Active Directory DNS and DHCP
o Storage Architecture
o Automated server provisioning system
Qualifications
? Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a technical field. Typically has more than 10 years work experience in Information Technology/Engineering environment. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred
? Excellent problem solving ability
? Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
