Ochsner is currently seeking a Patient Account Customer Services Representative for the Call Center. The hours for this position are Monday – Thursday 10 a – 7 p and Friday 8-5.

Duties: Provides Ideal Patient Experience and implements the One Call Resolution approach of the Department. Handles patient billing questions, complaints and inquiries with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism and within the prescribed resolution period. Offers alterative solutions and explains its financial impact. Communicates, reconciles. Adjusts and collects receivables from the customers. Identifies and defers more complex patient inquiries and legal requests to the senior staff, Research Team or leadership for resolution as appropriate.

Requirements: An Associate's degree or higher with two years of experience performing medical and insurance billing and/or follow-up, or other revenue cycle related activities gained from multi-clinic or multi-hospital healthcare setting. High school diploma and three years of direct experience or high school diploma and four years of related experience can be substituted in lieu of education.

Working knowledge in:
· Medical terminology utilized in medical billing including Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Diseases Codes (lCD-g) codes
· Fiscal record keeping using an automated system and/r health care billing including Medicaid, Medicare. Or other third party payers;
· Public and private sources of assistance and methods of qualifying for funding;
· Collections laws. regulations and techniques: current office practices and procedures;
· Excellent typing skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English. grammar, diction, and spelling). Basic math skills.
· Problem solver and can handle multiple tasks.
· Team player. Can work and remains composed under high pressure environment while adhering to the Department's protocols
