Greater New Orleans New Leaders for New Schools Program Associate

Position Description
The Program Associate will be responsible for a mixture of project management and administrative functions all in support of the success of the New Leaders for New Schools – Greater New Orleans program and it’s principals-in-training. The individual will work with the Greater New Orleans Executive Director and staff on specific projects, which will include interacting with recruits for the program, participants in our Emerging Leaders Program, Residents who are in our Aspiring Principal Program and their Mentor Principals, and principals and assistant principals who have completed the training and are in the Network of Support Program. The Program Associate will also manage relationships with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• Be the initial point of contact for new recruits, New Leaders and supporters of New Leaders.
• Organize and manage all details of the New Leaders Admissions process and database.
• Provide schedule, calendar, and travel support to the Executive Director of the New Leaders for New Schools – Greater New Orleans team.
• Assess and manage the general administrative needs of the team and work to complete long-term and short-term projects with team members.
• Implement both large and small public events to support New Leaders Emerging Leaders, Aspiring principals and Network of Support and the Greater New Orleans Program.
• Communicate information between the New Leaders teams in various offices.
• Purchase equipment and supplies as provided for in budget and in consultation with the Executive Director.
• Support the Greater New Orleans Office in preparing mailings, informational materials and other correspondence.

• A passionate commitment to improving urban public schools and to the New Leaders for New Schools mission
• Excellent organizational, people and teamwork skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent project management and problem solving skills and the ability to be self directed
• Ability to anticipate projects and take initiative
• Ability to learn quickly and succeed in the rapidly changing environment of a non-profit organization
• Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic Web browsers and searches required; familiarity with more advanced database packages a plus
