Develops Ruby on Rails Web Services for use in high transaction volume application. Consume 3rd party web services and create web services with documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Writing Rails 3.0 code using standard Rails 3.0 conventions and API's
Optimize performance and stability of application infrastructure
Defining, implementing, maintaining web service API
Write unit and functional tests to support new code features
Translate business requirements into code
Writing and tuning SQL queries.

Competency:
Website development using Rails 2 or later or Java technologies.
Able to write strong, scalable code for high transaction websites.
Experience with source control systems such as Subversion.
Experience with *nix shell and ability to manage Apache/Rails/Postgres stack.
SQL experience.
Strong understanding of OOP fundamentals and Design Pattern concepts.
5 years experience building web applications.
