Canal Barge Company is looking for an experienced, career-minded Financial Accountant to join our strong and growing company. This position offers the unique opportunity to partner directly with one of our core Business Units, closely collaborating with company leaders to help manage our business.

Candidates for this opportunity must have the following qualities: 1. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work on and with a team; 2. Outstanding quantitative skills and attention to detail; 3. Demonstrated willingness to take the initiative and go the extra mile; 4. Good organization skills and the ability to independently accomplish work that is accurate and timely; 5. Looking for a long-term career opportunity with a growing company; and 6. Experience and/or desire to work directly with business leaders.

Desired experience includes: 1. Monthly closing procedures and ledger analysis & reconciliation; 2. Minimum 2-5 years experience; 3. Prior work experience in maritime, oil & gas, and/or logistics helpful but not required; 4. Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field extremely helpful but not required; and 5. Experience in Billing high-volume and high-dollar accounts is helpful but not required.
