Office Manager Position Available

In the coming years, we will grow to a kindergarten through eighth grade school serving over 450 scholars. Pride is modeled after the most successful urban schools in the country. Job Summary
The Office Manager plays a central role in ensuring an orderly, responsive, and open school. In addition to maintaining the school’s administrative systems and routines, the Office Manager functions as the primary contact person for all the school’s constituents. S/he embodies Pride’s core values of perseverance, achievement, teamwork and healthy learning. The Office Manager will report directly to the Director of Finance & Operations from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F, working to assure smooth execution of all non-instructional responsibilities at Pride.

Key Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
• Serve as main point of contact in school office
• Manage phones (answering calls, re-directing calls, taking messages, placing calls, creating school announcements, etc.)
• Manage mail (distributing received mail, preparing school mailings, making mail drops, etc.)
• Manage the collection and maintenance of sensitive student records and files (receiving forms and paperwork, tracking missing forms, managing databases, updating contact information, keeping records current, etc.)
• Manage school-wide daily systems (managing student attendance, tracking the student discipline system, etc.)
• Greet and document all visitors (signing in visitors, ensuring that students only leave with authorized parents/guardians, etc.)
• Coordinate communications home to parents and maintain parent outreach documents
• Plan logistics for school events and field trips (making photocopies, setting up for special events, making phone calls to confirm attendance, etc.)
• Assist with scholar arrival, breakfast, lunch, and snack
• Help ensure an orderly school
• Maintain common areas and office equipment
• Maintain office supplies and procurement systems
• Enforce school uniform policies
• Process student applications

Strong candidates for this position will possess:
• A relentless commitment to Pride College Prep’s mission to equip each of our scholars with the habits and skills to excel in college and life.
• Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university
• 2-3 years of office experience, preferably working in a school
• Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills (strong interpersonal skills with scholars, parents, colleagues, and community members; ability to have difficult conversations)
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Internet
• Maturity and ability to work independently
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Prior experience working in schools and/or urban communities is preferred
• Flexibility and a sense of humor
