Community Works of Louisiana is seeking afterschool Enrichment Instructors for Fall 2011 in the following subject matters: African Dance, African Drumming and Theater.

CWLA Enrichment Instructors are usually professional artists in the community selected not only for their artistic talent, but their ability to engage students and exhibit classroom management skills. Everything CWLA does is rooted in the belief that extended learning opportunities are most impactful when they look and feel different then the regular school day.

Ideal candidates will have experience working with students ranging from PK-8th grade. The ability to integrate numeracy and literacy into daily activities, communicate well with students as well as other staff members and reinforce what students have learned during the school day are necessary for success as a CWLA Enrichment Instructor.

Qualifications: – Enrichment Instructor should demonstrate deep knowledge, understanding, and technical mastery of subject matter.

- Enrichment Instructor should possess a genuine desire to share their passion and experience with young people.

– Enrichment Instructor should understand the complexities and challenges of school environments and know how and when to be flexible.

- Enrichment Instructor should have a reliable form of transportation and be willing to drive at least 25 minutes to a site.
