Description:

The incumbent will utilize his/her significant knowledge of the digital media/software industry to develop and execute a program of work to successfully administer the digital media/software tax incentive program in Louisiana. He/She shall strive to identify natural synergies with other areas of entertainment (motion picture, music & live performance) as well as other divisions within LED institutions of higher education, and other agencies within local & state governments by focusing on collaboration and communication. The primary duties shall include:

o Administering Louisiana’s Digital Media and Software incentive program.
o Supporting LED’s business development efforts by working with internal groups and providing details on the statutory requirements and administration of the Digital Media and Software incentive program.
o Supporting local and regional economic development entities.
o Identifying obstacles to growth in the digital media and software industry and developing remedies for these obstacles.
o Working with LED officials and other state agencies to develop policy that best addresses the needs of the digital media/software industry.
o Assisting in the development of workforce and infrastructure initiatives to service the digital media and software industry.

Preferred Selection Criteria:

A baccalaureate degree in a technology or accounting-related field (such as Computer Science or MIS) plus at least three years of management (or related) experience in the digital media/software industry. Additional education (JD, MBA, etc.) and/or accounting experience is desired but not required. Must be a self-starter and a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and results driven individual. Must possess a working knowledge of the digital interactive media/software industry and have an understanding of the process and terminology of that industry. The ideal candidate understands company accounting and budgets, plus a grasp of industry standards (ie: costs associated with development, as well as the wages paid to individuals for certain types of work). Must also possess excellent written & verbal communication skills, proficient in data collection and tracking; spreadsheets, email, word processing and other business applications. Must also possess a general working knowledge of the current technological tools utilized by the industry in addition to current trends in gaming and interactive entertainment of all genres as well as those trends within interactive software development.
