General Position Summary

This is an unpaid summer internship, for a MBA student in a high energy, start-up business. The work involves direct consumer marketing, social media marketing, PR initiatives, and brand management. The marketing intern will assist with the execution of the tactical functions of the marketing program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively in response to business and technical challenges. Experience in marketing, branding, and/or PR is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop a comprehensive Social Media Marketing campaign through Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, LinkedIn, etc. Manage email marketing (direct outreach). Develop marketing and promotional strategies for target populations. Assist in brand management and development. Identify, network and manage relationships with targeted sponsors. Assist with promotions in/around the city and on local college campuses. Create targeted press releases for print, radio and pitching brand to media outlets for publicity. Assist with onsite event activities. Create and edit copy for brochures, website, and other print materials. Maintain mailing list database. Duties as assigned.

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication. Savvy with social marketing websites and platforms. Proficiency in database management. Outgoing, go-getter – willing to spread the brand at all times
