Assistant Executive Director Position Job Description
Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board

The Assistant Executive Director Position requires a person with exceptional organizational skills, administrative skills, computer skills, communications skills, ability to multi task, ability to move at a fast pace, and be creative. This position will report directly to the Executive Director and will interact with the Board made up of 15 members. The following duties are required of this position but not limited to:

Assist in administrative duties – drafting and managing contracts – securing and managing grant funds – preparing and managing the budget – preparing for board meetings – developing and implementing policies and procedures
Assist managing contractors (ad/pr agencies, webmaster, etc…)
Assist with communications and public relations efforts
Assist working with all forms of local and national media (internet, print, radio, and TV)
Assist developing and executing marketing programs
Assist securing sponsorships
Assist coordinating major events (tradeshows, Great American Seafood Cook Off, etc…)
Some travel may be required
Assist educating and building relationships with chefs
Assist an office manager, communications manager as needed and manage student interns/volunteers
Serve as legislative liaison at the local, state, and federal level

Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate college credentials from an accredited University in business, management, marketing, journalism or related field plus a minimum of 5-7 years work experience in a professional office environment. Experience with federal grants and contracts a plus.

NOTE:
Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Incorporated; the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools; the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
