The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities seeks a talented editor and writer to join our creative team in producing KnowLA, the Digital Encyclopedia of Louisiana History and Culture (www.knowla.org), and Louisiana Cultural Vistas, an award-winning quarterly arts and culture magazine in print for 22 years. This person will edit encyclopedia entries and magazine stories/departments, including writing heads and captions; copy edit, fact check and proofread; conduct occasional archival photo research; and work closely with our freelance writers and photographers and staff designer. The ideal candidate should have a strong affection for Louisiana and a solid understanding of the state’s history and regional cultures. Strong journalism background and publishing industry knowledge required; 3-5 years experience working on a newspaper or magazine preferred but recent graduates may be considered.
