FirstLine Schools has been given the opportunity to work together with the Tremé community and Clark families to raise academic achievement and continue Clark High School’s traditions of excellence. As a FirstLine School, Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School will have a safe, orderly environment, a focus on academics and a variety of enriching experiences, including athletics, art, music, and culinary arts offerings.
Our approach is to create 3 small-school programs within the high school population.
• Our freshman will enter Clark Prep Freshman Academy, an intensive college-prep program focusing students on developing the passions that will drive them to succeed in college and beyond.
• Our 10-12th graders will find a transformed curriculum that will prepare them for college and careers.
• Students will also have access to a program called the NET, providing project-based learning and internship opportunities to students who struggle in traditional academic environments.
The NET @ Clark Prep
The NET stands for: meeting Needs, raising Expectations, Training for life. Students at The NET will earn a high school diploma, a GED, or complete a rigorous literacy and numeracy program. Students will follow an individualized academic curriculum and participate in internships with area employers in various fields. Our students will leave school with the skills, confidence and experience to succeed in the career and education path of their choice.
Position Summary
FirstLine Schools seeks a Behavior Interventionist, who will be responsible for providing support and intervention to students with behavior challenges in order to ensure that they are able to perform at high levels and achieve academic success.
Specific Responsibilities
• Work to identify and target student behaviors that impede student learning both inside and outside of the classroom
• Work to develop individualized behavior support plans and work closely with students to implement those plans
• De-escalate students who are in crisis
• Monitor students at breakfast and lunch
• Monitor students in the hallways
• Provide interventions with students who are out of class
• Establish and maintain strong communication with students, teachers, and parents and family members
Position Requirements
• AA or BA preferred
• Experience working with adolescents
• Experience working with students with emotional and behavior struggles
• Passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students and for building strong, mission-driven teams
• Commitment to The NET's mission, vision and growth
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and people skills
Compensation
• $30,000-$35,000, based on experience
• Comprehensive benefits package
