As a FirstLine School, Joseph S. Our approach is to create 3 small-school programs within the high school population.

• Our freshman will enter Clark Prep Freshman Academy, an intensive college-prep program focusing students on developing the passions that will drive them to succeed in college and beyond.
• Our 10-12th graders will find a transformed curriculum that will prepare them for college and careers.
• Students will also have access to a program called the NET, providing project-based learning and internship opportunities to students who struggle in traditional academic environments.

Position Summary

FirstLine Schools is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for Clark Prep’s 10th-12th grade program, who will be responsible for teaching a self-contained classroom for students with emotional-behavioral challenges.

The EBD Self-Contained Teacher will be responsible for the following:

• Planning and teaching a self-contained classroom for students with behavioral-emotional challenges
• Developing individualized behavior plans and working closely with students to help implement the plans
• Managing IEPs
• Ensuring IDEA, federal and state compliance
• Analyzing Special Education data

Position Requirements

Education & Experience

• 2+ years experience teaching special education students with emotional/behavioral challenges in an at risk students in a non-selective, open admissions urban environment with a demonstrated record raising student achievement
• Experience with complying LA special education policies, procedures and systems
• Louisiana Special Education Certification/License (or eligibility to be certified for out-of-state applicants)
