Journeyman Plumber

Reports to: Master Plumber
Dept: Construction
Salary Range: $31,500-35,500

St. Bernard Project is looking for an experienced journeyman plumber to manage a crew of 1-3 assistant plumbers to complete residential plumbing work on our clients’ homes.

Responsibilities:

? Rough plumbing including copper and pex and testing water lines
? Finish plumbing including water heater, toilets, faucets, sinks and vanities
? Creates and maintains a safe, clean, and neat work environment
? Assures the safe and proper use of tools and equipment
? Complete projects on time and budget
? Ability and willingness to successfully manage multiple teams and projects of varying skill levels (apprentice and journeyman) with diverse backgrounds (AmeriCorps, veterans, long term volunteers)

Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of the International Residential Code and Louisiana code.
• Understanding of what practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, quality control, cost control and safety are required to complete a project to the applicable building codes
• Experience in scheduling, material ordering, project management, and bidding
• Understanding of time management and what it takes to deliver a project on time and under budget;
• Understanding of how to build capacity of apprentice level carpenters through proper training and management.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and architectural plans
• Able to successfully complete projects with limited or no supervision
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Louisiana Journeyman (or equivalent) Plumber License
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer skills preferred

Requirements
• Minimum 5 years experience in residential plumbing
• Supervisory experience
• Valid State Driver’s License/Reliable Transportation Valid Social Security Number/Card
• Be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
• Possess verifiable references
