Silicon Bayou News (http://siliconbayounews.com) is a leading technology media property, dedicated to obsessively profiling entrepreneurs and startups, reviewing new Internet products, and breaking tech business news on the Silicon Bayou.

We have grown rapidly to over 6,000 unique visitors and 50,000 pageviews per month. With an expanding staff of volunteer writers and a constantly-evolving website, Silicon Bayou News provides an excellent opportunity for a student to gain experience working in a fast paced, challenging, and educational environment.

The Editorial Internship is an unpaid position with an expected contribution of 10-15 hours per week, depending on availability. This position reports directly to Editor-In-Chief, Molly Oehmichen.

Responsibilities may include:
•Sending press releases and story ideas to our team of talented writers
•Formatting and adding pictures to posts submitted by writers
•Brainstorming individual post topics and weekly column ideas
•Attending events put on by The Idea Village, Social Entrepreneurs of New Orleans, GNO Inc, and other organizations
•Opportunity to write about a variety of topics including your experience as an intern
•Being an extra pair of eyes and ears on the beat of the Silicon Bayou

What we’re looking for:
•Passion for entrepreneurship and technology
•Self-Starter
•Love for Louisiana and/or Baton Rouge, New Orleans.
•Based in New Orleans and ideally have transportation to the Warehouse District (we are located within Launch Pad at the IP Building, 643 Magazine St.)
•Must be able to work on your own laptop
