The Junior League of New Orleans, a well-established not-for-profit volunteer training organization, is seeking an energetic self-starter for bookkeeping and accounting support. The Accounting Manager will work closely with volunteers, staff, and outside auditors to manage all financial record keeping and accounting support of the organization. Responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements, analysis of the budget, maintenance of the general ledger through financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
Candidate must have the ability and enthusiasm to manage multiple projects, such as routine monthly reconciliations and reporting along with seasonal projects such as annual fundraising events and the launch of a new online fundraiser.
Computer proficiency, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills are a must. Recent experience or proficiency with Peachtree software is strongly preferred as is an accounting degree or three years relevant experience in a similar position with demonstrated financial acumen, accounting skills, and computer proficiency.
