Jonathan Ferrara Gallery seeks an enthusiastic intern for a part-time position (1-2 days per week, 11am-5pm) in our gallery. Some additional hours may be required for gallery openings or special events.

The ideal candidate should have excellent verbal, writing, and research skills working knowledge of Photoshop and basic patch and painting skills as well. Tasks will include administrative duties, research, archival projects, gallery-related errands, and assisting with the turn over of exhibitions and openings at the gallery. The position is available September through December with the possibility of continuing on an additional semester.

Internship can be used as college credit when applicable. Former interns have gone on to work at museums and other cultural institutions with a recommendation from the gallery owner

This internship provides in depth knowledge into the inner workings of a commercial fine art gallery that has national and international reach and works with artists from around the world, museums and cultural institutions and major biennials such as Prospect.2 New Orleans. It is an excellent opportunity for potential candidates to learn the gallery business, artist relations, curatorial concerns and sales, marketing and inventory management in concert with the asst. director and gallery owner.
