NOLA DEFENDER, a hyperlocal, online newspaper based in New Orleans, LA, seeks interns to perform office functions and generate content for
our growing startup operation. We seek individuals who understand that a successful online news outlet is better than the sum of the menial tasks that are required to continue running it. Those looking for
glamour or a cool place to hang need not apply. We seek industrious self-starters who don't mind the grind. Those who like our style will find opportunities to gain valuable writing clips, and learn what it takes to get a piece of writing ready for publication. You may also enjoy our snark.

Office work will include general administrative tasks (copying, filing, etc.) paperwork upkeep, tracking financials, copy editing, running errands, and more. Writing opportunities will center around breaking news briefs, and short pieces that illuminate New Orleans culture.

Interns will be asked to complete 15-20 hours of work each week at our offices. A car will help you do your job better, but is not required.

We cannot pay, but are open to making arrangements for college credit.
