Kid’s Play NOLA Arts Education Internship
This internship is geared to students of dance or music currently majoring in arts education and preparing to teach K-12. Interns work side-by-side with the dance and music faculty of Kid’s Play NOLA. Kid’s Play NOLA’s afterschool program provides a diverse group of 50 local youth ages 6-17 with daily dance and music classes. Interns provide classroom support for the faculty, gaining valuable hands-on experience, and participate in daily staff evaluation and planning meetings. Applicants must document previous experience working with youth, an ability to work as part of a team, and good organizational and verbal skills. Interns must be able to work Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 17-May 17 from 4-6pm. Classes are held at the Ashe Cultural Arts Center, 1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. Our finale performance will be on May 19 at noon at the center. Each intern will be paid a stipend of $600.
