SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to support the Executive Director in the management of an emerging non-profit organization over a two year period of growth and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide leadership and direction for middle managers in setting an effective agency agenda and ensuring performance goals are set and met; • Serve as a mentor, coach and guide to staff, particularly with operations, programs and EOG relationships with the community, art, cultural, and activist allies; • Provide guidance, as requested by the Executive Director, for program, activities and outreach and networking in the neighborhood, private sector, city, state government businesses, art and cultural communities; • Assure the design and implementation of management processes for planning, operations and program evaluation. • Work with the Executive Director to sustain and grow programs and services • Support the organization’s strategic alliances and partnerships for funding, and programming. • Represent the organization to the public, key stakeholders and business partners as requested • Full delegated authority to act on behalf of the Executive Director in her absence • Participate in strategic planning and the implementation of planning outcomes • Other duties and support requested by the Executive Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Position is funded until 2013
• 5+ years in a senior management position in a nonprofit organization, foundation, private sector, public or government agency.
• Experienced Supervisor
• Great attitude and great people skills
• Ease with adaptation and flexibility
• Appreciation of Culture and Art as pivotal aspects of community life.
• Success in roles requiring execution of multiple projects and programs
• Management of agency budget in coordination with Executive Director
• Outstanding communication and written skills are essential
• Good computer and technology skills required
• Self-starter, self-disciplined
• Grant writing experience
• Travel required
• Flexible schedule needed as the hours will vary from week to week.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor Degree required
• Masters Degree preferred
