Job Description:
The Assistant Director will have an important, multi-faceted role supporting Loyola's Career Development Center’s mission of helping students find careers where they find themselves. As a member of the career development team serving Loyola undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni the assistant director’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing individual and group career coaching regarding career choice, resume preparation and development, business correspondence, job and internship search strategy, interviewing skills, personal branding, etc. The Assistant Director will develop and implement unique career education programming for undergraduate and appropriate graduate student populations with special emphasis on meeting the career development needs and interest of students in the College of Social Sciences, School of Mass Communication and School of Nursing.
Qualifications:
The successful candidates will possess a Master's degree from an accredited institution in counseling, education, higher education, student personnel services or related field. Knowledge of career development and student development theory and practice. Two to three years prior experience providing career guidance or advising for undergraduate students in a college/university setting. Knowledge in the use of career assessment tools including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Inventory Strong customer service orientation; creativity, ability to assume responsibility, takes initiative and motivates others. Proven ability to design and present programs/workshops. Well-developed organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; strong verbal and written communication skills including experience using social media as a marketing/engagement tool.
