Feet First, New Orleans' largest independent retailer of women's shoes, handbags, and accessories, seeks energetic interns to work part time on our growing website business, assisting with online sales and marketing, merchandising, and customer service. The primary responsibilities of interns will be:

• Photographing merchandise
• Editing photos
• Writing product descriptions
• Managing data
• Processing web orders
• Composing blog posts and other responsibilities as needed

Working out of our main office located in Uptown New Orleans at 4119 Magazine Street, interns will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of running an online business, including sales and marketing, order processing and fulfillment, advertising and social media, data entry and product upload, customer service, and all other daily e-commerce operations. In doing so, interns also will gain valuable insight and exposure to the inner workings of our adjoining bricks-and-mortar retail operation.

Ideal candidates must be creative and organized, eager to learn, and take direction well. Attention to detail is critical. We also are looking for a positive, can-do attitude. Knowledge of photography and Photoshop is a plus. Strong computer skills are a must. Interns must also have a firm grasp of the English language, and must understand and utilize proper grammar and demonstrate good, strong writing skills.
In exchange for your time and assistance, Feet First will offer compensation in the form of free merchandise in addition to a generous employee discount. We also will gladly partner with schools to grant official internship credit. Feet First is very willing to work with outside scheduling demands, such as school, extracurricular activities, and jobs.

Monday-Saturday: 10am-6pm
Thursday 10am-7pm
Sunday: 12:30pm-5pm

Before admission to Feet First for an internship the following statements must be agreed upon by any interns who are offered a position. Additionally, any intern hired to work at Feet First must:

• Rank at sophomore or higher college level.
• Commit to working at least one eight hour shift or two four hour shifts per week, and understand that their commitment requires efficient time management.
• Get to and from the store without additional support or vehicular assistance.
• Dress appropriately. The Feet First dress code is neatly casual to dressy casual, e.g., shorts and skirts must be to the knees. No excessive cleavage, no exposed midriff, no low cut jeans. Torn jeans and torn shirts are strictly prohibited. No t-shirts can be worn —collared shirts or blouses are required. Any intern must also agree to only wearing Feet First shoes while working on the premises.
• Communicate effectively, decisively, and refrain from vulgarity.
• Commit to scheduled shifts, as determined by the intern and managers. If you are going to miss a shift, you must make it known to the store as early as possible – preferably by the day before. If you miss hours, you are expected to make them up in that same week.
• Understand that the goal of being at the store is to learn in an interactive retail environment and to assist the managers in fulfilling all assigned tasks by stated deadlines.
• Must be willing to sign an acknowledgement and acceptance of internship form, which includes the terms and conditions of the internship as well as a confidentiality agreement.
