The staff accountant will be tasked with the proper accounting of a number of housing construction projects and administrative overhead expenses. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong willingness to work independently in a fast-paced work environment and have a proven track record in leadership, problem solving and planning. A positive attitude is required.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Government grant billing
-Preparing monthly financial statements for grant portfolio
-Job costing and variance reporting to project managers
-Creation of job estimates and tracking variances
-Accounts Payable
-Accounts Receivable
-Processing payroll through Paychex
-Processing expense reports
-Processing timesheets/billable hours
-Account reconciliations
-Bank reconciliations
-Custodian of petty cash
Requirements:
-Associates Degree in Accounting, BS in Accounting (preferred)
-Intermediate Excel, some Access experience a plus
-3+ years experience, job costing a plus
-3+ years experience with QuickBooks
-Work history in the non-profit sector preferred
-Detailed oriented yet flexible
