Federated Sample is looking for a Software Architect to join our global product development team. Our clients use our flagship products, Fulcrum and Samplicio.us, to manage and execute complex, large-scale online sampling projects (surveys). Our development centers are located in New Orleans, Singapore, and Manila, Philippines.

The Software Architect role is an amalgamation of all facets of architectural decision making and execution. The facets include, but not limited to, Enterprise Architecture, Systems Architecture, Integration and SOA Architecture, and Information Architecture.

The Software Architect must be a visionary with the requisite leadership skills to execute and deliver on the vision

Requirements/Experience

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science
• Expertise in building products on .NET framework
• Ten years of hands-on software development experience, at least five of which involves strong architectural responsibilities
• Breadth of experience with expertise in contemporary technologies and architectures
• Experience in analyzing platforms and devising highly scalable and robust architecture and solution
• Proficient problem solver. Ability to drill down to the lowest levels of details, identify root cause of problems and implement both short term and long term solutions
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure components
• Expertise in database design. Experience in NoSql, Text Databases, and other data processing models and architectures
• Experience in working in an Agile environment, with rapidly changing requirements and tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills. Ability to present ideas and architecture to senior executives and clients

Responsibilities

• Layout software architecture for the firm and identify new architectural components where applicable
• Conduct due diligence and develop pilots for all new components and new architecture models
• Define design patterns and usage patterns for each component and module of the platform. Write code where needed to realize the patterns
• Educate and train development and product team in frameworks, architecture and design components
• Define, execute and deliver non-functional requirements of Performance, Scalability, Security, and Compliance
• Point of contact for third-party and client integration initiatives. Identify technologies and integration mechanisms. Develop software and tools to facilitate systems integration framework
• Collaborate with Infrastructure vendor and infrastructure team to build out infrastructure to support the projected growth of the business
• Manage software component design in collaboration with the Technical Lead
• Stay on the forefront of technology developments and bring new and applicable technologies to the platform
