Company Description
Sucré is a manufacturer, wholesaler, and retailer of an array of artisanal chocolates, gelato, pastries, confections, and cakes. The Company distributes its products through its retail stores on Magazine St. in New Orleans and at Lakeside Mall in Metairie. The wholesale and e-commerce businesses operate out of Sucré’s production facility – Confection Studio. Sucré is currently planning expanding operations via e-commerce, wholesale sales and the addition of new retail stores. The Company is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to play a major role in this upcoming growth phase.
Position Description
As Sucré is a small company the Visual Brand Manager will interact directly with all aspects of the organization playing a key role in the management of the brand’s image. The VBM is responsible for developing and protecting the look and feel of Sucre from concept through production and into consumer hands. The VBM must continuously seek new creative extensions and opportunities by staying current on trends. This will followed by generating new ideas to clearly understand and support the brand ensuring that all creative content developed is representative of Sucré.
We are seeking an energetic and fun spirited addition to our team! A great communicator, taste tester, opinion leader, student of the industry, trend spotter, social marketer, insightful and curious and strategic person.
Qualifications
• 2 – 4 years design experience
• Must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design
• Communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with co-workers.
• BA in graphic design
• E-commerce experience preferred
Principal Accountabilities
*Everything you see, you will be designing & managing:
• Graphic Design (creates in both web and print)
• Work hand-in-hand with management to develop product launches and production timelines.
• Seasonal campaign development
-Determine theme/concept for the season
-Direct photo shoot of seasonal product (includes food styling & photo editing)
-Create marketing materials for stores (signage, banners, vinyl’s, magnetics, window designs, employee “new product” manuals and packaging instructionals)
-Dress windows
-Assist store Managers with visual merchandising
-Create online marketing materials (design e-blasts, web banners, and social media visuals/icons)
-Design advertisements (Times Picayune WISH, Lagniappe, Billboard and Streetcar Billboard)
-Update Vendor websites with new product visuals & descriptions (Taigan, Bloomindales, Flickr)
Implement new products to shopsucre.com (deactivate old products, create new products includes “what’s inside?” tabs, assigning videos, meta information, description, imagery, sku #, weight etc., design background and side banners of product landing pages, numerically arrange order and categorize products
-Design packaging if needed for new/upcoming products
• Accountable for managing the vendor RFP process through to live item placement or usage.
-Directly communicates with all vendors such as packaging suppliers, printers, advertising sales reps, sign companies including acrylic builder, metal builder and media outlets. Verifies that final proofs are accurate and in budget. Sees item through production and delivery through to final usage.
• Responsible for managing the Visual Brand Departmental Budget including but not limited to communication materials, photography, packaging, printing, advertising, website development and other messaging mediums.
• Communication with PR firm and social media head
-Participate in weekly calls with PR firm and Social media head to review calendar of events, launch of new products, and upcoming media opportunities
-In charge of handling all products packaged and shipped to all media outlets per PR firm’s request
• E-commerce development/updates
-Work directly with consultants on a weekly basis to better the website and/or other areas under visual branding.
-Update store calendars on a monthly basis under Store Locations
-Update Press Pages with recent publications, videos, and blogs
-Design and implement shipping & homepage banners containing promo codes & specials
-Update Sucre Sweet Talk blog with current news/features or videos
• Always be aware of print and web production timelines
• Able to communicate daily on projects and key items.
• Installation of POP and product displays @ Sucré stores and local wholesale locations
-Set merchandising guidelines for stores
-Travel to location, take measurements & design necessary materials (signage, vinyl’s, acrylic frames, acrylic containers)
-Order necessary materials (table, table cloths, bar holders, frames)
-Install visuals, merchandise table & product displays
Compensation:
• Base salary has a range and will be commensurate with experience.
• Participation in employee profit sharing plan.
