The Louisiana Restaurant Association is seeking an Executive Assistant to perform a variety of administrative functions. Position will provide all necessary organizational and clerical support to four executive staff members, as well as LRA state board and committees, reporting primarily to the CEO.

Primary functions are to manage the administrative needs of the executive staff members including correspondence and mailings, calendar maintenance, telephone, travel arrangements, expense reconciliation and interacting with the general public and members performing all in a confidential manner.

The candidate should be comfortable speaking to individuals or groups, working in a dynamic and fluid environment, and working with executives from a variety of professional fields. The candidate will be one who can build camaraderie, liaison with others, and be creative in exploring new approaches to established practices. Excellent interpersonal skills and an outgoing personality are essential.

Some experience in organizational governance includes maintaining corporate minutes and insuring conformance with approved practices. Serve as meeting coordinator for state board and committee meetings so the ability to travel to different areas of the state on a limited basis is required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience will be considered. Minimum of five years prior executive support experience with highly developed skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Software including but not limited to Outlook, Publisher, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to learn and understand functions of association management software system
• Independent action, creative thinking, executive presence and leadership
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to plan remote board and committee meetings including lodging arrangements, space planning, logistics and meals.
• Some knowledge of accounting and expense reporting procedures
• Courteous telephone etiquette and excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and make mature, prudent decisions
• Leadership capability and presence
• Creative ability to solve problems, find solutions, and propose efficient new approaches
• Professional appearance and demeanor
