The New Orleans Video Access Center, or NOVAC, a New Orleans based nonprofit media arts center entering its 40th year as a local voice for community media, is seeking an Executive Director to oversee staff, fundraising and operations of the organization.
A successful applicant will bring experience in fundraising and development as well as experience in the administration of a small, entrepreneurial organization. An ideal candidate will be energetic, passionate and have a strategic planning mindset along with an understanding of the film and video industry in the region, and a commitment to helping community voices be heard.
The position will require the ability to:
o work cooperatively with industry and independent members of the NOVAC community,
o to administer state and federal grants, and maintain all levels of accountability through their administration.
o develop partnerships with industry and independent film community members,
o create development and fundraising relationships with individuals, corporations and charitable organizations,
o creatively develop film and media programming that helps develop an indigenous community of media makers in the region,
o develop business opportunities that benefit the regional workforce in the film and video industry,
o manage staff,
o budget efficiently and strategically
o and collaborate regularly with the NOVAC board.
