WHO WE ARE
VoteIt is a New Orleans start-up that's changing the way people make decisions with real time, social, consensus-building web and mobile applications.

HOW WE WORK
The technology we use is Ruby (1.9.2) on Rails (3.0/3.1) through Heroku. We also have plenty of advanced javascript. We test our code. We love open source. We are agile and do frequent releases. We keep everything on GitHub.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
You’ll be floating between Ruby/Rails/Javascript/HTML/CSS files in the editor of your choice. You’ll need to have some knowledge of database design and SQL to get by. You’ll push code to GitHub and help out with pull requests and code reviews.

You’ll enjoy the freedom to innovate and help build the foundations of our company. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development community and open-source projects.

HOW TO DO IT
You don’t have to be a Ruby wiz to get hired, but you have to be a great coder. We strongly prefer developers to work in our New Orleans office, but will consider telecommuting for candidates that meet all of our criteria (knowing what Heroku refers to is a good start).

Resumes can be pretty dry, so don’t forget a cover letter.
