Epic Credentialed Trainer Job Description
Intellect Resources, a healthcare information technology (IT) consulting firm, is currently seeking individuals to train and instruct healthcare personnel on the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) software. Intellect Resources contracts with healthcare systems nationwide to provide quality healthcare IT trainers. The position is housed at Ochsner Health System in the New Orleans metropolitan area. Selected individuals will complete an 8 week, paid credentialing course to become proficient in the use and instruction of the Epic software. After successfully completing the credentialing course, individuals will train physicians, nurses, and other clinic or hospital staff.

Selected individuals are expected to actively engage as a credentialing student, including professional dress and demeanor, appropriate study habits, completion of required coursework, and attendance. The requirements for successful completion include, but are not limited to, a written test and an individual presentation. Successful completion of the 8 week credentialing course is required.

A credentialed trainer’s daily responsibilities include: development of training materials, mastery of lesson plans and curriculum, classroom based instruction and one-on-one instruction, expertise on use of the Epic software, interaction with Ochsner employees including collaboration with Epic project team, technical go live support, weekly status reports, best practice analysis at conclusion of each go live, and various functions as needed.

Previous Epic, IT, healthcare, or training experience is not required.

• Advanced computer knowledge
• College degree or equivalent technical certification
• Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Poise and professionalism
• Analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to learn quickly and proven test taking aptitude
• Experience working in groups and/or teams
• Flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends
• Experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite

Salary & Benefits
The position is a temporary full-time, W-2 based, hourly position with 5 month duration, and the opportunity for contract extension and permanent placement. Selected individuals will be employed by Intellect Resources and placed on the Epic training team within Ochsner Health system. Rates are $20/hour during credentialing and $25/hour after successful credentialing. Intellect Resources is pleased to offer healthcare benefits for duration of contract.
