The Director of Social Media will lead a team of community managers and content managers in Peter Mayer’s growing Interactive department. This team is focused on developing social media, web content and SEO programs for Peter Mayer’s clients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in the latest social media trends and tools, and have considerable experience implementing custom, results-driven social/content marketing programs for a range of clients.
Duties include:
Provide thought leadership in social media, including educating the agency and its clients through presentations and training sessions
-Develop departmental approaches that are results-oriented and focus on rapid and sustained growth of social media and content management programs for Peter Mayer’s client list, including leading development of: service definition, pricing models, proposals, training and education
-Establish and continuously improve methods of regularly reporting performance to clients
-Analyze web and social metrics reports, using them to make recommendations and plans for revising strategy and tactics
-Participate in strategic discussions and lead client presentations with thoughtful insights based on data, experience and best practices
-Supervise team members in day-to-day operations, including but not limited to: developing content calendars, social monitoring and listening, execution of social media plans, making updates to clients’ websites through content management systems, and sending bulk emails through clients’ email deployment systems
-Guide team members’ career development
-Work with a cross-discipline team, including creative directors, designers, strategists, account managers, developers, public relations and media to create integrated marketing programs
-Ensure the social media team’s activities align with other teams’ development of online ads, email, mobile, paid search, websites, video and traditional tactics
-Lead the expansion of Peter Mayer’s social media presence and regularly contribute insights articles to Peter Mayer’s website
-Assist the Vice President, Interactive Director in developing annual budgets and managing to goals set for the department
-Travel when needed
Experience
-Must have a BS/BA degree
-5+ years of digital marketing, social media and/or PR experience
-Well-versed in social media trends, platforms and strategies
-Ability to work effectively in a high energy, quickly changing and demanding environment
-Experience with web and social analytics applications such as Sysomos, Radian6, Omniture SiteCatalyst, CoreMetrics, and Google Analytics
-Fundamental knowledge of website content management and SEO best practices
