We have an exciting opening at an Outpatient Day Program for a Director of Social Services.

Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:

1. Reports directly to the Administrator and CEO.
2. Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of the functions of the Outpatient Program and Social Service Department.
3. Responsible for recruitment, training, evaluation, retention, and disciplinary actions of social services and outpatient staff members in accordance with Hospital Human Resources policies and procedures;
4. Plans and provides clinical supervision and teaching or as necessary which fosters staff members professional development and increasing social services knowledge base;
5. May provide direct or indirect services to patients, and their families or other caregivers, in accordance with social work standards and ethics;
6. Serves as liaison between the organization and external community agencies and facilities;
7. May participate in organizational marketing and other community relations activities as requested;
8. Monitors the health, both physical and mental of the patients.
9. Monitors internal standards for data quality and ethical practice; participates in the organization's overall quality improvement program and initiative.
10. Develops, implements, monitors, and enforces the programs policies and procedures.
11. Provides education and training to the employees that this position oversees.
12. Monitors local and national regulatory, compliance, accreditation related to mental healthcare.
13. Serves as the key contact for outpatient services and IOP.
14. Performs and reports each month and as needed in regards to program performance and success as assigned by the Administrator and CEO.
15. In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, establishes and implements policies and procedures for quality and cost-effective human resource management;
16. Collaborates with Director of HIM Analytics and Director of Nursing to ensure the quality, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all patient medical records.

1. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
• Current LCSW license in the state of Louisiana; experience in administrative and staff management;
• Strong working knowledge of psychiatric and medical diagnoses, treatment, and medications; excellent
• Oral/written communication and interpersonal skills; three to five years experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Ability to lead staff and offer guidance to those affiliated with the Outpatient Program
Preferred:
• a master's degree in mental health or a related field;
• experience in program management, IOP and outpatient services
