POSITION: Licensed Journeyman Electrician
REPORTS TO: Specialty Crew Manager
DEPARTMENT: Construction
SALARY RANGE: $32,000-$35,300
OVERVIEW:
The journeyman electrician works under the master electrician//head of department and is responsible for the proper installation of assigned tasks and/or scope of work.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
? Lead and teach a crew of apprentices in rough-in’s, trim outs and trouble shooting
? Communicate time lines with supervisor
? Submit any paperwork in a timely manner
? Assembling, installing, testing and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
? Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem/non-compliance with code
? Connecting wires to circuit breakers or other components
? Installing electrical service to point of service
? Maintaining current journeyman electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
? Supporting Construction Managers and Site Supervisors to ensure jobsite safety and security
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skilled electrician with 3-5 years experience
May have additional experience in a particular scope of work or product type
Licensed journeyman electrician
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of St. Bernard and Orleans Parishes' codes and construction safety requirements
