This position is responsible for enhanced functions and features on The National WWII Museum’s websites, in-museum interactive as well as day-to-day maintenance and related online applications. This position publishes materials on the Museum’s website and ensures that all content created follows the Museum’s Web and Editing Style Guide. Duties also include updating content on the Museum’s internet and intranet and handling various aspects of eCommunications materials. The Web Developer will work closely with the entire Interactive Team to ensure that online fundraising, educational mission and marketing strategies are correctly and appropriately executed.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design or related field or equivalent experience; advanced Web technologies skills including HTML5, CSS, jQuery, and dynamic web programming languages; experience with content management and customer relationship management systems, such as Convio; in-depth knowledge of web content best practices, usability and web standards are a must. This position will also be expected to become an innovator in the museum field and as such will be expected to be a self-directed research machine, soaking up as much information as possible on digitization, museum interactive, and mobile app development in the coming years.
