Funny Bones Improv is looking to hire a part-time Fundraising Contractor to assist in pursuing foundations, corporations and individual donors to support our organization.

The position reports directly to the Executive Director and where necessary, the board. The organization is looking for a talented, committed, passionate relationship-builder and communicator who believes in our mission and is focused on growing our funding and inspiring passion in prospective and current funders.

Responsibilities: The contractor will be responsible for identifying new sources of funding for Funny Bones Improv through research, prospecting corporations and foundations using online tools and searches and additional creative methods. The contractor will also be responsible for attending networking events to meet prospects and cultivate relationships. In addition to identifying funding sources, the contractor will be responsible for initiating contact with potential corporations and foundations to develop relationships, and securing sponsorships and grants. Finally, the contractor will be responsible for writing and preparing all grants, sponsorship requests and reports.

Ideally this individual has a minimum of 3 year experience in fundraising; proven experience at building relationships and soliciting funding; strong negotiation skills; proven ability to understand and navigate corporate cultures to achieve goals; demonstrated skills in written and oral communication at all organizational levels.

The contract runs from March 1 – June 30 2012. Salary to be determined based on experience.
