Program Coordinator (non-exempt), Center for Inter-American Policy & Research, Stone Center for Latin American Studies, Tulane University
POSITION SUMMARY
Manage the office of the Center for Inter-American Policy and Research (CIPR) including providing clerical support for the Executive Director, initiatingfinancial payments, maintain the financial and personnel records of CIPR, provide planning and logistical support for events sponsored by CIPR, and assist in bringing post-doctoral research fellows and other visiting faculty.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ administrative experience required
2. Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English
3. Essential computer skills: Word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, e-mail, Internet browser, and basic proficiency in on-line scheduling and accounting systems
4. Experience in basic fiscal accountability
5. Demonstrated speaking and writing skills
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field
2. Work or study experience in Latin America
3. Basic proficiency with image manipulation software
4. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
5. Work experience in an educational or research institution
SALARY RANGE: Annual: $28,388 – $40,554 (5 yrs+ relevant experience) or hourly $15 – $21/hour. This is a non-exempt (hourly wage) position, there might be overtime for special events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the telephone, front-desk and front-line communications of the CIPR office
Plan and make arrangements for events sponsored by the CIPR, including those initiated by the post-doctoral fellows.
Process all payments for programs, events and general purchases and maintain and update the financial record of CIPR .
Maintain and assist in coordinating the calendar and travel arrangements for the Executive Director of the Center for Inter-American Policy and Research
Organize and coordinate the maintenance of the CIPR offices and equipment
Assist the director in the search for post-doctoral fellows and assist those fellows in processing their paperwork and arrangements to be at Tulane
Assist the director in preparation, coordination, and follow-up of the CIPR Support Trust meetings, as well as the CIPR Board of Directors Meetings, and/or meetings of any advisory boards that CIPR enables in the future
Performs other duties as required or requested, whether or not specifically listed on this job description.
