Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer/Systems Integrator
Reports To: CEO

Summary:
Crescent Unmanned Systems LLC, manufactures small multi-rotor and fixed wing Unmanned Aerial Systems for military and law enforcement Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications. These small Unmanned Aerial Systems provide law enforcement and government agencies with enhanced situational awareness capabilities. Crescent Unmanned Systems is rapidly becoming an industry leader in small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) solutions. Crescent Unmanned Systems is currently seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as a Systems Engineer/Systems Integrator at its manufacturing facility located at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for systems integration, testing, and delivery of Unmanned Aerial Systems. Specific duties include hardware / airframe design, software integration, systems documentation, readiness review preparation, project management, software testing, interface design/testing and final deployment. Engineer will also be responsible for integrating hardware and software systems into a collaborative network. Lead Systems Engineer will develop a systematic plan to allow for the interoperability and synergism of command, control, communications, computers and information in order to accomplish client's ISR collection objectives.
Further duties will involve the identification of opportunities to improve the quality of processes and the company products related to both hardware and software; enhancement of performance, productivity, and timely delivery of products.
Required Skills:
• Project management — ability to show empirical knowledge / completion of an engineering project from beginning to a successful completion. Experienced with MS Project (or equivalent). Proven ability to manage projects within designed budgets and timelines.
• Proven experience in systems integration methodologies and structured approaches to product development.
• Must be proficient participating in and leading integrated process teams, as well as coordinating and communicating customer requirements, with demonstrated project leadership experience including team management of other engineers.
• Ability to develop system requirements, architecture, timelines, and budgets in the creation of high-level design documents.
• Coordinate the activities of the development team (internal staff, subcontractors, and staff from collaborating suppliers) and manage stakeholder expectations and requirements.
• Organize the strategic benefits of adopting a consistent architectural approach. Ensure that the various views comprising architecture and development are consistent and coherent, developed at an appropriate level of detail, and that changes are controlled so as to maintain budgets, benchmarks, and consistency.
• Ability to represent the team during briefings to and meetings with government and law enforcement customers.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Basic Qualifications:
• BS in related engineering discipline
• Interdisciplinary engineering knowledge, skill sets and experience including:
o embedded software systems
o electronics and electronic/control systems
o systems engineering
o documentation
o system integration
• Candidate must possess engineering expertise in at least one area, and have a deep understanding of the adjacent areas related to sUAS:
o control system architectures and components
o software programming (C, C++, Linux, MS Windows, Visual Basic)
o quality control / testing disciplines
• College GPA of 3.5 or greater
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance may be required for certain projects or programs. US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status is required for ITAR/EAA controlled projects or programs.
• Candidate must demonstrate past successes and be willing to provide references to verify all provided information. References will be thoroughly vetted and interviewed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Graduate degree in related engineering discipline
• Understanding of aerodynamics fundamentals, UAV specific experience preferred.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes including advanced polymer production, selective laser sintering, 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and PCBA construction preferred.
