RiverLand Credit Union is a New Orleans based Credit Union dedicated to providing best-in-class financial services to our members. Our IT Department is growing and we are currently seeking a full time employee to take the position of IT Support/Programmer. The position is responsible for writing and supporting end user applications to work with our financial software, some system administration duties in a Windows/VMWare environment, and Help Desk support duties.
Candidate must be good time manager, multi-tasker and self-starter. Must be able to work in a team environment. Good communication skills required, as much of the job is interacting with end users and other IT team members. Must be dependable, bondable and have a satisfactory FICO score.
Education:
Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred, or 3-5 years of experience in an IT-related field
Duties:
Maintain current codebase of applications/programs
Develop new solutions for our core banking system, especially with regard to changing financial regulations
Support Windows Server environment, including SQL and Exchange Servers
Assist in DR planning
Support end users at a variety of branch locations
Communicate with vendors/third parties to support their products
Diligently comment/document programs and procedures
Troubleshoot issues as they arise
Technical skills preferred:
Knowledge of Jack Henry’s Symitar/Episys system
Strong in at least one programming language (Java, C, etc)
Familiarity with Windows/Office working environment
Basic knowledge of networking skills/concepts
Experience with HTML/Javascript is a plus
Familiarity with Linux/UNIX
Database related programming experience (SQL or other)
Knowledge of VMWare
