We are currently seeking a Transportation Manager for our distribution facilities in New Orleans, Louisiana.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Transportation Manager oversees the daily dispatch of deliveries and fleet for a Distribution Center within a direct store delivery network assuring the timely and cost effective delivery service levels of customer orders in partnership with Sales and Operations teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises the daily operations of the Transportation Department this includes all aspects shipping and delivering product.
Responsible for overseeing the delivery of product to the customer.
Ensures new Transportation employees are trained and ensures understanding of organization and operation policies and service guidelines.
Responsible for maintaining DOT files and records for all Delivery personnel.
Ensures that the fleet is maintained properly, including all maintenance and safety related issues.
Coaches, directs and counsels employees on overall performance.
Ensures productivity expectations are met and monitors progress regularly.
Ensures the replenishment of items/quantities sold daily.
Identifies and recommends opportunities for employee development and performance improvement requirements.
Participates in the recruitment and hiring of warehouse employees.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Associates or B.S. degrees would be a strong consideration for this position or equivalent related job experience.
Minimum of three years general management experience and five years experience in Warehouse Operations and/or Transportation.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Strong supervisory skills in directing and coaching others.
Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
Job requires the ability to obtain and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with State laws.
