Member Action Associate VISTA

The Louisiana Bucket Brigade, an environmental health and justice organization is looking for a Member Action Associate.

The Member Action Associate is responsible for communicating with and recruiting LABB members via multiple tools: e-mail, newsletters, social networking sites and events. An important aspect of this position will be to communicate to our membership the vibrancy of the communities along the Mississippi River.

Activities Include:

Membership Management
• Manage and update the membership database.
• Manage and update the web site.
• Coordinate member events, including house parties, annual Holiday Party and springtime Earth Day Festival.
• Coordinate phone canvass
• Develop, manage and maintain social networking sites, including the LABB Facebook site and Twitter.
Membership Recruitment
• Launch the LABB Canvass
• Assure a membership recruitment presence at all LABB events

Membership Program Development
• Coordinate the LABB’s Annual Earth Day Festival. This includes securing the necessary licenses and permits, communicating with neighborhood groups, recruiting vendors and more.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• A great, enthusiastic and efficient writer
• Knowledge of social networking
• Experience with a database
• Experience with event coordination
• Outgoing and personable with an interest in and enthusiasm for people
